<READING TIME: 2m18s>
I used to frequent a CrossFit gym for some light exercise (đ) every now and again and we had a mantra: âNever miss a Monday!”
Why?
- Because you create momentum and results early on in the week which gives you motivation for the rest of it
- Because you always have more energy on a Monday after having a rest on the weekends
- Because later in the week distractions might come up or you might feel tired, but at least youâve already completed 1 gym session
The same is true for your work week or for any other goal.
What are the most important tasks that you want to complete this week?
Always do them on a Monday!
In strategic productivity, we call it âfront-loading your weekâ.
Front-loading your week means that you schedule the most important (or even the most difficult) tasks at the beginning of your week.
This means that you always have the energy to complete those tasks, youâre creating extra motivation by seeing progress early on in your week and you can create space later in the week for ad-hoc or admin tasks that come in.
TAKE ACTION:
- When looking at your to-do list this week:
- Identify those tasks that are the most important to get done
- Schedule those for as early in your week as possible
- Be sure to include time for your important strategic projects (even if this means you wonât complete these projects, still give yourself time to work on some of the specific tasks early in the week)
- Keep admin and less important tasks scheduled for the end of the week
- Do this for work and personal tasks
- Never miss a Monday for your most important tasks!
